RITUAL ROASTERS, CHELTENHAM

Materials: Birch Ply, Concrete, Recycled Plastic Tops, Jesmonite, Wall cladding

Design Elements:

Ritual Roasters had a generous footprint to work with on an industrial estate, meaning the site was a completely blank canvas.

Birch ply, blocks of colour and strategic lighting were used to add warmth and unify the space. The brief required the working area to remain visible so customers could connect with the roasting process, while ensuring the seating areas felt comfortable and inviting.

Using the building as inspiration a modern industrial feel was created by using materials choices, such as the vertical slats of bar to echoed the lines of the walls and concrete worktop which mirrored the floor.

The result is a unified space where production and hospitality coexist transparently and comfortably.

barebones just gets it — they knows how to turn a space into something both beautiful and practical.

There ideas, execution, and understanding of what a café needs have been a huge part of Ritual’s success, and is the reason why we regularly recommend them to our partner cafes.
